Quality
The good typical dishes from Alentejo, are prepared with conscience and respect for costumers and traditions. Going in a low season day, we found a service in a normal rhythm, unusual in those latitude. The three usual speeds in Alentejo (slow, very slow and stopped) were not respected, and we finished lunch in a very acceptable time, with a nice talk with the owner, who came in the end to check the costumers' satisfaction. We congratulated him... of course! Favorite Dish: Carne de Porco à Alentejana (Pork with clams) Address: R. do Raimundo, 33, near Pr. Giraldo Phone: 351 266 707 635 |
Disguised A few kilometers out of town, in the way to Lisbon, we found a discreet restaurant by the road, that we used for a late lunch. The name and the look were not appealing, but inside things were better than expected, with a large room, a simple decoration but a clean ambiance.I ordered "Frango de cabidela", a typical chicken with black rice, and the service was not as slow as usual in Alentejo. The lunch was good and cheap. A positive impression of a popular and not outstanding place. Back home i found that the tricky name is the name of the neighborhood. Best Location
I never stayed there - as a matter of fact I never slept in Évora, less than two hours distant from my home bed, but if I had to choose a hotel this would be the one - unless the price... Perfectly located, not only it allows to easily visit the historic area, as it makes part of it.
